So I bought a self-waxing kit a few weeks ago for my bikini area. It was a chore, but I got myself waxed. I'm thinking I didn't do it properly because the hair started growing back fairly quickly and it was nothing but ingrown hairs. Lame. Obviously now I'm going to do the smart thing and go to a professional, but I was wondering if I should expect the same results regarding ingrown hair? Like, if it has to do with my skin type or if it was just me not completely ripping the hair out to begin with? The likelihood of ingrown hairs after Brazilian waxing?
I have always gone to a professional, so thinking I would save some money, I tried to do it myself too. What a mistake. It WAS a chore, took forever, yes more ingrowns too. I find going to a pro much better. You may still get ingrowns, it has more to do with your skin type. I get them pretty bad sometimes, and the place I go sold me on a product that helps a lot. Its called PFB Vanish. Good luckThe likelihood of ingrown hairs after Brazilian waxing?
yeah your best bet would be getting it done by a professional. I have tried doing it myself but its just too complicated and the results are not very satisfying unless you go to a pro who can make it one of the best experiences ever. i dont think i got ingrown hairs before i went to pro, but i definitely didnt get them after :)
i have been waxing for a little over a year now and I have noticed a significant difference in the length and coarseness of the hair between now and when i first started. its much finner and short!!
if you want to have all the hair gone forever, than I reccommend laser hair removal. I recently started laser hair removal for the underarms, butt, and brazilian.
after the first treatment, a lot of the hair did not come back (yet) on the butt, maybe 75% came back around the groin brazilian area, and 50% or so came back in the underarms.
keep in mind this was only my first treatment. everyone's hair and skin type is different, so it just depends, but i'd say an average of 5 or 6 treatments should be enough to be completely hair free.
after you start doing laser hair removal, do NOT ever wax the area. aparently if you wax the hairs out than the procedure(s) you have done were for nothing....you should as more to one of them laser hair removal people for more info.
hopefully this helped =)
