I am embarrassed to go to a salon to get it done so I tried some that you do at home...I did okay until I got to the lips and then it was to painful so I had to quit...I really am sick of shaving...has anyone ever had it done at a salon and if so what is the process? and how long does it last? also should I wait til it grows back? basically walk around with a butched up girl or should I just go in and fess up my embarrassing hedge trimming job?!?!?!?Brazilian waxing?
I get it done at the salon, and I'm very happy with the results. You basically take off your pants (they provide special underwear you can wear if you're modest, but they're optional) and lay down on a spa bed. Then the aesthetician puts on the warm wax, lays a piece of paper over it, and tears off the hair with the wax. It feels about the same as pulling off a band aid.
I'm usually 100% smooth for about a week, and then the hair is mostly grown back in about 3 weeks total. The hair does grow back a little finer each time, which is nice. I go every 4 weeks.
Hope that helps!Brazilian waxing?
It will last anywhere from 2-4 weeks, and you have to wait until there's about 1/4 of an inch a hair regrowth. It will cost anywhere from $30-$100, depending on your area. Just make sure that you ask the salon how long they've been performing Brazilians because the result of an inexperienced waxer is ingrown hairs.
Once you make an appointment, make sure you wear loose fitting clothes, and be prepared to take off your undergarments. The waxer may ask you to trim your hair a little bit, and then she will start waxing. It will take about 15-30 minutes. Once you get home, don't take a shower and then next day start exfoliating everyday to prevent ingrown hairs. You can also buy a hair inhibitor to encourage slow hair regrowth (check out sallybeauty.com).
If you do have to wait, go to WalMart and buy a $30 personal groomer, that will hold you over until you get enough regrowth for a salon job.
